C.D. Elliott Sands

EAST AMWELL TOWNSHIP, NJ - C.D. Elliott Sands, age 64 years, of East Amwell Township, NJ, died on Saturday, May 8, 2004 at his residence.

Born in Sao Paulo, Brazil, October 26, 1939, he was the son of the late J. Franklin and Mary Elisabeth Montgomery Sands. He had previously resided in Montreal, Quebec, Fairfiled, CT, Radnor, PA, and Princeton, NJ before moving to East Amwell Township, NJ in 1996.

Mr. Sands graduated from the Westminster School, Simsbury, CT, and the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, PA. He attended the New York University Graduate School of Business. He began his career with the First National City Bank of New York, and worked in various financial institutions for the next thirty-two years.

He was a United States Navy veteran, completing active duty in 1964. Upon retirement, he pursued his hobbies of restoring old houses, and collecting art and antique furniture. He served as a volunteer on the East Amwell Township Planning Board.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Valerie Lipinski Sands; a sister, Susan Hannah, of New Hampshire, and a brother, Franklin Sands, of Florida.
