Edward A. Drenkhahn, age 65 years, of Lower Nazareth Township, PA, formerly of Flemington, NJ, died on Tuesday, August 11, 2020 at his home.
Born in Raritan Township, NJ on December 14, 1954, he was the son of the late Charles and Emma Jane Allegar Drenkhahn. He had resided in the Flemington area all his life before moving to Pennsylvania earlier this year.
Ed worked many years for Suburban Propane as a technician and installer.
He was a member of both the Three Bridges Volunteer Fire Company and the Three Bridges Reformed Church for many years.
Ed was a huge sprint car racing fan and enjoyed going to the track. This included attending the old Flemington Fairgrounds to watch the races. He enjoyed playing card games such as “airplane rummy” and going to the casinos in both Atlantic City, NJ and Bethlehem, PA. Ed also loved cruises to Bermuda and the Bahamas where the food and gambling “was all in one spot.” Some of Ed’s other hobbies included going roller skating, going out to breakfast at the Country Griddle in Flemington, and listening to Southern Rock, especially the band Lynyrd Skynyrd.
Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family. He was proud “Pappy” and Pop-Pop to his granddaughter, Emma, and his daughter’s dog, Thor.
He is survived by his wife of thirty-seven years, Mary Jane Drenkhahn, of Lower Nazareth Township, PA, his daughter, Liz Drenkhahn, of Allentown, PA, his granddaughter, Emma Jane Tyler, and his sister, Susan Drenkhahn, of Holland, MI.
Funeral services officiated by Rev. Ryan Nace and interment in Three Bridges Reformed Church Cemetery will be private at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ.
Memorial contributions in Ed’s name may be made to the Three Bridges Reformed Church, P.O. Box 235, Three Bridges, NJ, 08887
