Florence P. Yard

Florence P. Yard, age 85 years, of Raritan Township, NJ, died on Friday, August 20, 2004 at the Hunterdon Medical Center, Raritan Township, NJ.

Born in the Three Bridges section of Readington Township, NJ, March 24, 1919, she was the daughter of the late Frederick and Lillian Gardner Porter. She had resided in Raritan Township, NJ for the past fifty years.

She worked at the Yard's Meat Market, Flemington Auction Market, and the Lace Mill at Dart's Mill, NJ throughout her life. She was a member of the Three Bridges Reformed Church, Three Bridges, NJ, and its' Quilting Club. She was a 1937 graduate of Flemington High School.

She is survived by her husband of sixty seven years, Robert A. Yard; a son, Robert H. Yard, of Raritan Township, NJ; four daughters: Judy Yard Hall, of Raritan Township, NJ, Dottie Yard Saling, of Bridgewater, NJ, Cathie Yard Smith, of Belvidere, NJ, and Susan Yard Palmer, of Signal Mountain, TN; eleven grandchildren; and fourteen great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 2 PM in the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Interment will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Flemington, NJ. Calling hours will be Tuesday from 1-2 PM in the funeral home.
