Hilda Hewitt

Hilda Hewitt, age 97 years, passed away at her home in Raritan Township, NJ on December 27, 2022. Born Hilda Ecker on June 14, 1925 in Kingwood Township, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Ivanka Ecker. She grew up on the family farm in Kingwood Township and went to Scotts School in Kingwood and graduated from Frenchtown High School in 1943.

After raising three boys, she went to college, graduating from The College of New Jersey with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1979. For several years, she was employed by Ethicon, Inc., Bridgewater NJ until retiring.

She married Charles E. Hewitt on March 12, 1944 and raised their children in Kingwood Township before retiring to Virginia. She was a member of the Whitehall United Methodist Church, Clearbrook, VA.

Hilda and Charles were married for seventy-two years before he passed away in 2016 .

Hilda moved back to the Flemington area six years ago.

She is survived by three loving sons, Robert of Flemington, Alan of Wilmington, OH and Barry of Colorado Springs, CO; four grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 4, 2023, at 5:30 PM in the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Calling hours will be Wednesday 4:00 PM until the time of service at the funeral home. Interment in Washington Crossing National Cemetery, Newtown, PA will take place at a later date.
