Kathleen Ann Thomas, age 72 years, of Frenchtown, NJ passed away in the early morning on Thursday, February 1, 2024, at the Hunterdon Medical Center, Raritan Township, NJ.
Born in Irvington, NJ, September 21, 1951, she was the daughter of the late Walter Charles and Mary Ann (Hildner) Thomas. She had formerly resided in Newark, NJ until moving to Hunterdon County, NJ in 1995.
Prior to retirement, Kathy was a High School Admissions Director. First at Lacordaire Academy, Montclair, NJ and then The Academy of Saint Elizabeth, Convent Station, NJ, where she was also a teacher of Theatre Arts and Dance.
As a young woman, she was a professional ballet dancer and performed with New Jersey Ballet and American Ballet Theatre. She was also the Artistic Director of her own theatre company, K.T. Productions, for nearly 35 years. Kathy loved throwing parties and hosting holiday dinners, but she especially enjoyed traveling with her family. No matter the destination, she was always up for the adventure.
She was a long-time parishioner and eucharistic minister at Our Lady of Victories Parish, Baptistown, NJ. After retirement, she volunteered for the local Meals on Wheels charity and even developed an impressive aptitude for crocheting.
Surviving are three sisters, Deborah Nejman and her husband Gerard of Frenchtown, NJ, Maryann Daw and her husband Ernest of Denville, NJ, and Annmary Cola of Philadelphia, PA; four nieces and nephews, Kate Nejman of Bridgewater, NJ, Sean Nejman and his wife Jennifer of Milford, NJ, Joshua Daw of Denville, NJ, and Becky Daw of Baltimore, MD; as well as her grand-niece Charlotte Nejman.
A funeral mass, officiated by Monsignor David Fulton, will be held on Thursday, February 8, 2024, at 11:00 AM at Our Lady of Victories Parish, 1005 Route 519, Frenchtown, NJ. Inurnment will follow at Saint Magdalen Mausoleum, North Main Street, Flemington, NJ. There are no calling hours.
The family kindly requests that in lieu of flowers and memorial trees, memorial contributions in her name may be made to The Hunterdon Regional Cancer Center, 1100 Wescott Drive, Flemington, NJ 08822.
