Robert J. Manderichio, age 85 years, of Atlanta, GA passed away on Sunday, February 27, 2022, in Ringoes, NJ.
Born in Elizabeth, NJ on November 10, 1936, he was the son of the late James P. and Jean (Richel) Manderichio. He grew up in New Jersey and lived in South Orange, Short Hills, and enjoyed Point Pleasant Beach as a young man. In fact, he was an excellent swimmer and spent his summers there working as a beach cop and lifeguard.
He attended Carnegie Melon University and lived in Fayetteville, NC for a time, where he owned a grocery store, but eventually settled in New York where he had homes in New York City and East Hampton, NY for most of his life. He worked for over thirty years in advertising for Uptown Productions where he had a hand in print advertising and television commercials. After retirement, he made his way to Atlanta, GA, where he spent his later years.
His hobbies included raising and showing Schnauzers and travelling all over to dog shows. In addition, he was an excellent gourmet chef, volunteering at local food banks for those less fortunate. His travels also took him through Europe, Italy, and Alaska to visit his brother. Above all, his family remembers him as someone who was vivacious and full of life with a great sense of humor. He will be missed by all who knew him.
Surviving are his three siblings, Fran Lordon, of Point Pleasant, NJ, Tony Mander, of Seattle, WA, and Judy Petry, of Ringoes, NJ; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews; as well as long-time friend, Bob Byers.
