Adam Jakelsky

July 4, 1960 — January 26, 2022

Adam Jakelsky of Kingwood Township NJ, died Wednesday, January 26,2022 at the age of 61.

He was born in Somerville, NJ, son of the late Adam and Carol (Wagner) Jakelsky, and later he moved to Hunterdon County, where he graduated from Hunterdon Central Regional High School in the class of 1978. Growing up, he worked with his family, running the family business, Shady Lane, which was once a banquet center and popular night club, located in Kingwood Township.

He met his wife, Beth, on the 4th of July, 1982, on his birthday, at a church picnic. They were married five months later to the day and were blessed with 39 years together.

One of Adam’s greatest accomplishments was starting his own business, “Adam's Lawn and Land Maintenance,” which started in 1983, serving over 150 customers in Hunterdon County. His love for his customers was only surpassed by the love he had for his family. Many family members have worked with him over the years. His sister Darlene worked for him for over 20 years. His right-hand man, his nephew Steven Manetta Jr, was like a son to him. Steven and his brother Jake will be continuing Adam's business.

When Adam wasn't working, he enjoyed watching The Waltons and napping in his recliner with his dogs. He also loved Christmas music and watching Hallmark movies. Even at the age of 61, he always said, "I'm still just a kid", and "I'm going to be a farmer, when I grow up".

Adam was straightforward and strong-willed. His sense of humor always had someone laughing, even if it was just himself. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He was the kind of man who left an impact on everyone he met. He always said he wasn't afraid to die because he knew he was going to be with Jesus.

Adam is survived by his wife, Beth (Gimbi) Jakelsky, his daughters, Amber, April, Autumn, Ashlyn, and Arinn, their spouses and eight grandchildren, as well as his sisters, Darlene and Victoria.
