Adel Ahmed, JD, Ph.D., age 84 years, of Princeton Township, NJ, died on Monday, February 27, 2017 in Compassionate Care Hospice at Robert Wood Johnson-Hamilton Township, NJ.
Born in Cairo, Egypt, September 25, 1932, he was the son of the late Dr. Abdel- Aziz Ahmed and Ikbal(Bella) Abou-Seif Radi. He had resided in Princeton for the past twenty-five years.
Dr. Ahmed was an Engineer for RCA and Siemens as well as a Patent Attorney. He was inducted into the New Jersey Inventors Hall of Fame for his pioneering work in bipolar integrated circuit design and worldwide use of the Ground-Fault Circuit Interrupter (GFCI) integrated circuit.
Adel is survived by his wife, Cecile; his two sons, Sam Burton, Sam's wife Jenn, and their son Logan, of Cochranton, Pennsylvania, and Basil Burton, Basil's wife Katie, and their son Colin, of Lopatcong, New Jersey.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, March 5, 2017 at 3 PM in the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Interment will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Flemington, NJ. Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 1:00 PM until time of service in the funeral home.
