Adrian A. Prokofiew

Adrian A. Prokofiew of Kingwood Township, New Jersey passed away at the age of 67 on Monday, June 28, 2021.

Born in Schenectady, New York on January 28, 1954, she was the daughter of the late Eileen Sawyer and Raymond Wheeler. She lived in Hunterdon County, New Jersey for more than thirty years.

She worked for Hunterdon County, but was most passionate about being a hairdresser, which provided her the platform for her to make meaningful connections and life-long friendships.

Adrian was an early advocate in the New Jersey Autism community, connecting families in crisis with resources and support. She dedicated her life to her three children and spent her retired years taking care of her Autistic son, Jonathan. Her family remembers her ability to inspire those around her with her beautiful optimism.

Surviving are her three children, Jenifer, Adam, and Jonathan Prokofiew, her sisters, Veronica Dayton and Stephanie Deloach, of Malabar, Florida; as well as her brother, Jeffrey Wheeler, of New Jersey.
