Agnes-Marie Kell of Delaware Township went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 6, 2014. She was 85. Born in Passaic, New Jersey on July 3, 1928, she was a daughter of the late Robert and Agnes Crozier. She earned her Bachelor’s degree from Douglass College and her Master’s degree from Fairleigh Dickinson University. For several years she taught Home Economics and English at Hunterdon Central High School and then moved to South Hunterdon High School, where she taught Home Economics, Chef and Gourmet classes and retired after 23 years.
An active member at Kirkpatrick Memorial Presbyterian Church for 54 years, Agnes-Marie served as an Elder, a Deacon, taught Sunday School, Christian Endeavor, Vacation Bible School and attended Bible studies. She was a 4-H Leader and served as a foods judge at the Flemington Fair for over 40 years.
Agnes-Marie traveled extensively throughout the US and Europe and created her own business, Tidings of Joy, with home parties specializing in German and European Christmas ornaments and gifts. Her greatest joy was in service to her Lord and her family.
Predeceased by her husband, Copeland Kell III in 1984, her parents, sister Linda Fitzsimmons, and brother Robert Crozier. She is survived by her 4 children and spouses: Cynthia Toft-McLaughlin and husband Kelly of Seattle, Washington; Edith Arntz and husband Spencer of Glendale, Arizona; Copeland Kell IV and wife Terry of Delaware Township, New Jersey; and Marie Garner and husband Chappell of Baltimore, Maryland. Her 10 grandchildren: Jeremy Toft and Jenny Toft of Washington State; Robert Arntz of Alaska, Allison (Arntz) Smith, and Erik Arntz both of Arizona; Copeland David Kell of Maryland and John Kell of New Jersey; and Agnes-Marie (Garner) Fox of North Carolina, Linda (Garner) Walsh, and Cynthia Garner both of Maryland. She had 9 great-grandchildren: Hunter and Conner Toft, and Marly Aloisio; Travis and Chloe Arntz, Aiden and Audrey Smith; Charlotte Kell; and Duke Walsh. She is also survived by her brother-in-law, Dugald Kell and sisters-in-law, Liliane Kell, Rosalie Kell, and Joan Crozier, as well as many nieces and nephews.
In a final act of love and generosity, Agnes-Marie has donated her body to brain research and science in the hope of helping others in the future.
A Memorial Service will be held at Kirkpatrick Memorial Presbyterian Church, 37 John Ringo Road, Ringoes, NJ on Saturday, April 5, 2014. Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. and the celebration of her life will start at 12:00 p.m. with a reception following.
