Aileen Degerdon

Aileen Degerdon, age 81 years, died on Wednesday, April 30, 2014 at her home.

Born in Newark, NJ, May 24, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Alexander and Margaret Williamson Orrock and had resided in the area for the past year. Prior to that, she had resided for many years in Southampton, NJ and North Arlington, NJ.

She was formerly a longtime secretary with AXA Equitable Life Insurance Company, New York, NY.

Aileen was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was a longtime member of the Protestant Community Church in Medford Lakes, NJ as well as an active volunteer fundraiser for Deborah Heart and Lung Hospital, Browns Mills, NJ.

She was pre-deceased by Donald, her husband of sixty years.

Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law, Sheila and Brian Tannehill; son and daughter-in-law, Todd and Susan Degerdon; three grandchildren, Chris and Kelly Degerdon and Savannah Tannehill; her brother Robert F. Orrock and two nephews, Alexander J. Orrock and Andrew R. Orrock.

Memorial Services will be held on Friday, May 23, 2014 at 11:30 a.m. in the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ, preceded by visitation from 10:30-11:30 a.m.

Interment will be private in Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Arneytown, NJ.
