Albert Dinero, age 96, died Monday, October 3, 2022 in Hunterdon County, NJ.
Born March 3, 1926, in Buffalo NY, Albert was the son of the late Charles and Lena (Principale) Dinero. After graduating from high school, he enlisted in the Army Air Corps and served in the 20th Air Force in the Pacific during WWII. After discharge, he attended Georgetown University until being called back to serve as an Army Reservist during the Korean War.
After the war, he completed his degree and decided to pursue a teaching degree at Buffalo State University. He became an elementary school teacher for the Kenmore-Town of Tonawanda school district in 1958 and stayed there until retiring in 1995 after 37 years of teaching.
Albert married Roslyn (Rizzo) on February 13, 1954. They were married for 60 years when she predeceased him in 2014.
Throughout his life, Albert loved photography which he had learned as a young boy. He also enjoyed traveling with the whole family in a truck camper to national parks throughout the country. He enjoyed ceramics, and for many years hosted a ceramic club for the school kids, as well as writing, making jewelry, and painting. He loved animals and was never without a dog or cat companion.
In addition to his parents, Albert was predeceased by all of his siblings: S. Thomas, Ida, Charles, Marie, Richard and Robert Dinero.
Albert is survived by his loving children, his daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Russ Lockwood of Delaware Township, NJ; his son and his partner, Steven Dinero and Dolores Pfeuffer-Scherer of West Reading, PA; his grandchildren, Ari and Maya Dinero, Shai and his wife, Margeaux Freedman, Matan Freedman, and Penina Hoffnun, as well as his great-grandchildren, Fox and Zev Freedman; and many nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be scheduled in Buffalo, New York at a later date. There are no calling hours.
