Alberta C. Kollmer

Alberta C. Kollmer, age 85 years, died Tuesday, October 2, 2018, at Bridgeway Rehabilitation and Care Center in Bridgewater Township NJ. Born May 1, 1933, in Doylestown PA, Alberta was the daughter of the late Edward and Ethel (Smith) Prater. She lived for more than 25 years in the Mt. Airy section of West Amwell Township NJ, before moving to Saginaw MI, Stroudsburg PA, and eventually to Bridgewater NJ. Alberta was always an outgoing, social person, making friends and sharing memories with new and old acquaintances wherever she lived. “Birtie” (as she was known to many) loved listening to Elvis Presley, sharing a story about Princess Diana of Wales, or swimming and exercising at the YWCA in Stroudsburg. She was such a talented crafter – making gifts and treasures while knitting, crocheting, quilting, or cross-stitching. In addition to her parents, Alberta was predeceased by her husband, Martin Kollmer, and by her five siblings. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Sandra and William Stahl of Neshanic Station NJ, her daughter, Nancy Kollmer of Saginaw MI, her son, Martin Kollmer of Florida, her son, Richard Kollmer of Stroudsburg PA, and her son and daughter-in-law, Ronald and Sherri Kollmer of Mt. Pocono PA. She is also survived by her sister, Eleanor Muscatell of Belmar NJ, her six grandchildren, William Stahl Jr., Kevin Martin Stahl, Colette Kollmer, Ronald Kollmer Jr., James Kollmer, and Martin Kollmer, as well as her two great granddaughters, Jordyn Stahl and Hailey Stahl. Cremation services and burial in Mt. Airy Cemetery will be private. Funeral arrangements are under the care of Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main St., Flemington NJ.
