Alberta E. "Bunny" Wicks

Ms. Alberta E. “Bunny” Wicks, age 65 years, a lifelong resident of Lambertville, NJ, died on Sunday, December 23, 2007 in the Hunterdon Medical Center, Raritan Township, NJ with her friends by her side.

Ms. Wicks, known as, “Bunny” to all her family and friends, was the only daughter of the late Edna Lavelle Booz and Arthur Wicks. She was born in Doylestown, PA, August 20, 1942.

A 1960 graduate of South Hunterdon High School, she went on to graduate from Trenton State College where she was a member of the Psi Chi Honor Society. She began working at the Hunterdon County Welfare Board in 1974. She eventually left county service and accepted a position in the New Jersey Judiciary Administrative Office of the Courts as Court Executive, Chief of Child Support Technical Assistance. She retired in 2002 after twenty-seven years of service to the twenty-one counties in New Jersey.

Bunny supported several medical charities including two glaucoma foundations and established the Edna Wicks Temporal Arteritis Research Fund at Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia, PA in memory of her mother. In 1964, she joined the Young Republican Club and was currently an active member of the Hunterdon County Republican Organization which she was involved with after her retirement.

During her life, she attended Presbyterian Churches in Lambertville and Flemington, NJ and also in New Hope, PA. She made many friends over the years and will be missed both for her sparkling personality and generous spirit.

Bunny is survived by a half-brother, Arthur “Skip” Hynds of Beaver Meadows, PA and many devoted and cherished friends.

Funeral Services will be held Thursday at 10:30 a.m. in the Thompson Memorial Presbyterian Church, 1680 Aquetong Road, New Hope, PA under the direction of the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Interment will follow in Holcombe-Riverview Cemetery, Lambertville, NJ. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 6-9 p.m. at the Funeral Home.
