Alexander Blanco

June 3, 1926 — May 31, 2020

Alexander Blanco, age 93 years, of Flemington Borough, NJ passed away on Sunday, May 31, 2020 at his home, just a few days short of his 94th birthday.

He was a rare and wonderful man of great honor, integrity, and dignity. He was kind, gentle, gracious, and giving and loved his family very much.

Born in Manhattan, NY on June 3, 1926, he was the son of the late Manuel and Josephine Fernandez Blanco.

He was a United States Navy veteran of World War II, serving with distinction as a Navy Seabee in the Pacific Theatre from 1944-1946. When he returned home from the war, he married the love of his life, Betty Gorochovsky.

Alexander is survived by his wife of 73 years, Betty (Gorochovsky) Blanco, as well as his sons Michael and Leonard Blanco, and his daughters Barbara Fuller and Susan Benesh. In addition, he is survived by his granddaughter, Rebecca Sorenson and grand-nieces, Alexis and Ava Sorenson.

Due to the pandemic, a private service with military honors will be held at Washington Crossing National Cemetery, Newtown, PA under the direction of the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ.
