Alfred F. Desario

Alfred F. Desario, age 79 years, of Kingwood Township, NJ, died on Wednesday, April 18, 2007 at his residence.

Born in Staten island, NY, July 31, 1927, son of the late Attillio and Mary Desario, he had resided in Kingwood Township for the past twenty years, having formerly resided in Staten Island, NY.

A retired NYNEX employee, he was a member and Past-President (1982-1986) of the Richmond Borough Gun Club, Staten Island, NY; a member of the National Rifle Association; a member of the Easton Fish & Game Association; a member of the Italian American Heritage Club; and a member of the Knights of Columbus.

Mr. Desario served in the Army National Guard from 1948 to 1952. He very much enjoyed hunting and competitive shooting, of which he was the receipient of numerous awards. He also like dancing, cooking, traveling and motorcycle riding with his daughter. His greatest love was spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren. He was loved by all.

Surviving are his wife of forty-three years, Hazel Heron Desario; three daughters, Diane Micali of Flemington, NJ, Patricia Desario of Staten Island, NY and Denice Muller of Flemington, NJ; a son, Arthur Desario of Bangor, PA; one sister, Rose Mavaro of Margaretville, NY; three brothers, Louis Desario of Cocoa, FL, Paul Desario and Arthur Desario, both of Norwich, CT; and eight grandchildren, Michael Micali, Matthew Micali, Amy Jo Micali, Thomas Muller, Gregory Muller, Andrew Muller, Timothy Desario and Allison Desario.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday at 10:00 a.m. in Our Lady of Victories Church, Route 519, Baptistown, NJ under the direction of the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Interment will be private. calling hours will be Saturday from 7-9 p.m. and Sunday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. at the Funeral Home.
