Alfred G. Yawger, Jr.

Alfred Gilbert Yawger, Jr., age, 81 years of Readington Township, NJ died Sunday, February 22, 2004 at the Hunterdon Medical Center, Raritan Township, NJ.

Born June 8, 1922 in Clinton Township, NJ to the late Alfred G. Yawger, Sr. and Grace Lance Yawger, he had resided in Readington Township since 1974, previously residing in Mountainville and Lebanon, NJ.

He was formerly a Purchasing Agent with National Starch Corporation, Bridgewater, NJ and a security guard with Johns-Manville, Manville, NJ. Mr. Yawger was a veteran of WWII, serving in the Army Air Corps and achieving the rank of Corporal. He was a member of the Flemington American Legion Post #159, the Flemington V.F.W. Post #1928,and the Flemington Elks Lodge #1928.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years,Florence Zulian Yawger; two daughters, Pamela Grace Forker of Millsboro, DE and Jean Ann Lightcap of Manahawkin, NJ; and three grandchildren, Erica Lynn Rake of Booton, NJ, David Christopher Forker of Dover, DE and Adam Christopher Rake of Philadelphia, PA.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. in the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Interment will follow in New Cemetery, Somerville, NJ. Calling Hours will be held Saturday from 9-11 a.m. at the Funeral Home.
