Alice J. Bodnar

Alice J. Bodnar, age 87 years, of Raritan Township, NJ, died peacefully Thursday, December 20, 2018 at Independence Manor, Raritan Township, NJ. Born in Carteret, NJ, February 26, 1931, daughter of the late Bernard and Anna Siekerka Gotowicka, she had formerly resided in Bridgewater, NJ. A graduate of Carteret High School, she worked in the Chemistry library of Metal and Thermit Corporation before her marriage in 1952. Alice was a devoted mother and homemaker. She was an avid Rutgers sports fan and active in Alumni activities participating in several Rutgers Alumni Colleges, both abroad and in the United States. Alice enjoyed travel, tennis, swimming, hiking, art, cultural activities, music, reading and feeding the birds. She is survived her husband, Raymond D. Bodnar; one daughter, Deborah N. Bodnar of Stockton, NJ; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Eric Bodnar and Eileen Ruby of Greenfield, MA and Gregory Bodnar of Colorado Springs, CO, a sister-in-law, Helen-Louise D'Zurilla of Hamilton Square, NJ, one brother-in-law, Stanley Gorski of Elizabeth, NJ and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be private under the direction of the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Burial will be held in Washington Crossing National Cemetery, Newtown, PA. In lieu of flowers memorial contribution in Alice’s name may be made to the Bucks County SPCA, P.O. Box 277, Lahaska, PA 18931.
