Alice M. Thatcher

Alice M. Thatcher, age 87 years, of Henderson, NV., formerly of Flemington NJ, passed away Tuesday, April 29, 2014, at her home.

Alice was the daughter of the late Sadie and William Mathews of Flemington, NJ and resided in Flemington most of her life until 2004 when she relocated to Henderson, NV.

She was a dispatcher for Thatcher's Taxi Service, Flemington for many years and was later employed by Valley View Nursing Home, Frenchtown, NJ.

Alice will be remembered for her quick wit and the many kindnesses she bestowed upon others. She was a grand lady to all who knew her and always put her family first and foremost. She always had comforting words for those in need and an immense smile when sharing her pearls of wisdom in everyday conversations. She was an admirable role model to her family and friends and will be sadly missed by those lives she touched.

Her husband, John L. Thatcher, died in 1981; a brother, Earl W. Mathews in 2006 and a grandson, Kim Cortright, Jr. in 2013.

Surviving are four daughters, Debra Thatcher of Easton, PA, Karen and her husband, Kim Cortright of Henryville, PA., Bonnie and her husband, Raymond Tarsi of Raubsville, PA., and Dawn and her husband, Thomas (Randy) Foster of Henderson, NV; a sister, Mary Hill of Buckeystown, MD.; and her grandchildren, Brandon Cortright and Haile Foster.

A graveside service will be held Saturday, June 14, 2014, at 12 Noon in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Flemington, NJ. Arrangements are under the direction of the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ.
