Alvin "Cary" Hall

Alvin “Cary” Hall, age 84, died Friday, June 16, 2023 at Pottsville Rehab & Nursing Center in Pottsville PA, surrounded by his family. He had been a recent resident of Schuylkill Haven PA where he lived for a few years.

Born May 29, 1939 in Somerville NJ, Cary was the son of the late Lester and Edith (Perrine) Hall. He was raised in Hunterdon County and lived there most of his life before moving to Pennsylvania more than 15 years ago.

Cary, his late wife, Pauline “Bunny” Schaefer, and their two children loved to go camping throughout the United States, making stops in California, Arizona, and other favorite spots. Cary and Bunny also traveled on their own to many vacation destinations, whether by airplane or cruising on a ship to places like Alaska.

Cary loved taking in a NASCAR race, a good football or baseball game, however, spending time with his family, especially with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, was the thing he treasured most.

In addition to his parents, Cary was predeceased in 2020 by his wife of sixty-one years, Pauline “Bunny” (Schaefer) Hall and his brother-in-law, Edward Scheafer.

Surviving are his two daughters: Lori Hall, of Frackville, PA and Cheray Stafford, of Hillsborough, NJ. Additionally, he is survived by his five grandchildren; Donald Stafford, Nicole Stafford, Jessica Cooley, Shelby Cooley, and Bryant Hall, as well as his seven great-grandchildren: Layla, Jayden, Alexandria, Dakota, Ava, Dalton, and Mallory. He is also survived by his three brothers, George Hall of Hopewell NJ, Robert Hall of Easton PA, and Rodney Hall of Fredericksburg MD, and his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, James and Terri Schaefer, of Summit, NJ.

Funeral services for Cary will be held at 11:30 am on Wednesday, June 28, 2023 in the Three Bridges Reformed Church, 470 Main Street, Three Bridges NJ 08887. Interment will follow in Three Bridges Cemetery located behind the church. Funeral arrangements and cremation services are under the direction of Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington NJ.
