Amelia M. Keating

Amelia M. Keating, age 91 years, of Raritan Township, NJ, died on February 18, 2004 at the Country Arch Care Center, Union Township, Hunterdon County, NJ. Born in the Bronx, NY, November 13, 1912, she was the daughter of the late Robert C. and Minnie Fruhauf Schmadel. She had previously resided in St. Albans, NY before moving to Raritan Township, NJ in 1956.

She was a retired secretary, having worked for many years at the Hunterdon County Probation Department, Flemington, NJ. She was a communicant of St. Magdalen Church, Flemington, NJ, where she was also a Eucharistic Minister . She was a volunteer at the Hunterdon Medical Center, Raritan Township, NJ.

Her husband, Alexander F. Keating, Sr. died in 1984. Surviving are two daughters, Catherine A. Hisko, of Islamorada, FL, and Mary A. Matthews, of Turnersville, NJ; two sons, Alexander F. Keating, Jr., of Flemington, NJ, and Robert C. Keating, of Delaware Township, NJ; a sister, Dorothy I. Ledetsch, of Jericho, NY; a brother, Robert C. Schmadel, Jr., of Hempstead, NY; nine grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday at 10 AM at St. Magdalen Church, 105 Mine Street, Flemington, NJ. Calling hours will be Sunday from 7-9 PM at the Holcombe- Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Interment will be in St. Magdalen Cemetery, Flemington, NJ.
