Andrew Szweda, 75, of East Herkimer, N.Y., died Saturday, Nov. 6, in

St. Luke's Hospital in Herkimer.

He was formerly employed by Metropolitan Life Insurance Co. in New

York City for 30 years until retiring 12 years ago.

Born March 30, 1924, in Poland, he was a son of the late Michael and

Paraska Piedlaskovicz Szweda.

He had formerly resided in Flemington for several years and had

resided in East Herkimer for 11 years.

He is survived by his wife, the former Margaret Leili; a daughter,

Susanna Peltyszyn of Butler, N.J.; a brother, Tim in the Ukraine; two

sisters, Antonina Chacho of Cobleskill, N.Y. and Stefania Tuz of

Poland; and two grandchildren.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral

home, 147 Main St., Flemington. Call 7 to 9 p.m. Monday in the funeral

home.

Burial will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery in Flemington.
