Angela De Almeida

Angela De Almeida, age 98 years, of Branchburg Township, NJ, died on Tuesday, August 17, 2010 in the Hunterdon Care Center, Raritan Township, NJ.

Born February 17, 1912 in Elizabeth, NJ, daughter of the late Filippo and Concetta Federico De Santo, she had resided in Branchburg Township since 1976, having formerly lived in Forked River, Linden, Roselle and Elizabeth, NJ.

A former seamstress and waitress, Mrs. De Almeida was active with the Branchburg Senior Citizens.

She was pre-deceased by her first husband, Joseph Cassiba; her second husband, Manuel P. De Almeida; a son, Manual P. De Almeida, Jr.; and two sons-in-law, John La Pira and Robert Schmidlin.

Surviving are four daughters and two-sons-in-law, Ann Marie La Pira of Linden, NJ, Connie Schmidlin of Whiting, NJ, Grace and Harold P. Pipher of Neshanic Station, NJ and Melinda and Andrew Roberts of Gerard, IL; a daughter-in-law, Anne De Almeida of Millington, NJ; twelve grandchildren; and fifteen great grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. in St. Magdalen Church, 105 Mine Street, Flemington, NJ under the direction of the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Interment will follow in St. Magdalen Cemetery, North Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 3:00-5:00 and 7:00-9:00 p.m. in the Funeral Home.
