Anita H. Kelly, age 96 of Raritan Township NJ, died Sunday, March 3, 2024 at her home surrounded by her family. She has lived in Hunterdon County since 1958.
Born January 2, 1928 in New York City, NY, Anita was the daughter of the late George J. and Esther M. (McGraw) Wilt. For more than 25 years, Anita was a machine operator for Lipton Tea in Raritan Township until her retirement in 1993. She worked for RCA for a few years as well.
Anita was a Auxiliary member of the VFW Post 7856 and the American Legion Post 159 in Flemington. She loved to play cards, especially poker, and enjoyed many trips to Las Vegas and Atlantic City to play.
In her spare time, Anita, known to many as “Mama Kelly,” would crochet, or read a favorite mystery or romance novel. She loved to cook and was especially famous for her homemade soups and her love for flowers in her home.
Anita is survived by her daughter and son-law, Peg and Ronald Leupold of Upper Black Eddy PA, her son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Lisa Kelly of Conway SC, and her son George Kelly of Flemington NJ, as well as her six grandchildren, her thirteen great-grandchildren and her two great-great grandchildren.
Graveside services for Anita will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, March 6, 2024 at Restland Memorial Park, 77 DeForest Avenue, East Hanover, NJ 07936. There are no calling hours.
