Ann Snedeker Harms, age 82, of Seaford, DE, passed away peacefully at home on February 25, 2024, surrounded by her family. Ann was born on July 9, 1941, in Princeton, NJ, the daughter of the late Clifton Webster Snedeker and Ruth Lee Snedeker.
Ann was raised in Kingston, NJ, and she graduated from Princeton High School in 1959. After graduating high school, Ann went on to become a Registered Nurse from Orange Memorial Hospital, Orange, NJ in 1962. Ann worked as an Operating Room Nurse for 40 years at Princeton Hospital and The Hunterdon Medical Center in Flemington, NJ.
In February of 1963 Ann married LeRoy Harms, and on Valentine’s Day they celebrated 61 years of marriage. Upon retirement from nursing, Ann and LeRoy moved from Hopewell, NJ to Seaford, DE. They traveled in their camper extensively in the United States and sailing in the Caribbean. She enjoyed sightseeing, cross-country skiing, and sailing in the Caribbean with friends.
She was renowned as an excellent cook and always served the most delicious meals, especially during the holidays. She loved to make desserts and her specialty was cookies and pies. She also indulged in the making of quilts and other small decorative pieces for the Christmas season. She enjoyed her collections of owls that she accumulated over the years as well.
Being a nurse, Ann was always able to keep her boys happy and healthy during their formative years. She also spent a great deal of time caring for the dogs that happened to find her. After retirement she was the family guiding medical authority for treatment of various ills and emergencies.
She is survived by her husband, LeRoy, three sons, Donald Barry (Amy), Bruce Edward (Irene), and Trevor Robert (Jeannie), all of New Jersey. She is also survived by her sister, Faith Lee Duncan of Lewes, DE, and her twin brother, Clifton Ray Snedeker of Vero Beach, FL. She has three grandchildren, Allen, Caitlyn, and Eric, her pet dog George and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will take place on Wednesday, February 28, 2024, at 11:00 AM with a public viewing from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at Cranston Funeral Home, 300 N Shipley Street, Seaford, DE.
