LAMBERTVILLE, NJ- Anna Chanko, 93, formerly of Oxford CT, passed away on Saturday, January 13, 2018. She was the widow of Paul Chanko, Sr., who passed away in 1989 after 44 years of marriage.
Mrs. Chanko was born May 20, 1924 in Colver, PA, daughter of the late Michael and Mary (Mochnacka) Gbur.
Anna worked at Uniroyal for many years prior to her retirement.
After leaving Oxford, Mrs. Chanko made her home with her daughter Betty Ann and her husband Steve Halas, in Lambertville, NJ. This allowed her to spend her final years in their comfort and care, for which the rest of her family is truly grateful.
Besides her daughter and son-in-law, Anna is survived by her son Paul and his wife Sharon Chanko of Homosassa, FL, three grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and their children. She was predeceased by three brothers Jan, Michael, and Peter Gbur.
A calling hour will be held for Mrs. Chanko at 10 A.M, Saturday, January 20, 2018 at The Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Naugatuck, 201 Meadow St, 06770. Her service will begin at 11 A.M. at the funeral home with burial to follow in Grove Cemetery.
Donations in Anna’s name can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 200 Executive Blvd, Suite 4B, Southington, CT 06489.
