Anna Eremenko Kiriluk, age 96 years, of West Amwell Township, NJ, died on Wednesday, November 10, 2004 at her residence.

She was born in Medvin, Ukraine to Efrosina and Timofey Eremenko and was a beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

She moved to New York City in1928, where she worked in a pencil factory. Two years later she moved with her parents and sister to a farm in West Amwell Township, NJ.

She ran a bed and breakfast summers for many years at the family farm, where she also grew or raised much of the food for her family and guests. She was a strong, intelligent, talented and self-sufficient woman whose skills included organic gardening, sewing, canning and cooking. Along with her farm, she was a favorite subject for many painters, including the Bucks County artist Randolph Bye.

She helped her son tend to the farm cows and chickens until earlier this year.

Her husband, Makar Kiriluk, died in 1979.

She is survived by a son and his wife, Bill and Barbara Kiriluk of West Amwell Township, NJ; a dauughter and her husband, Sonia and John Ivanenko of Hopewell Township, NJ; five grandchildren and their spouses, Renee Kiriluk-Hill and David Hill of Delaware Township, NJ, Mark and Janine Kiriluk of Lumberton, NJ, Tammy and Rick Clawges of Rapid City, SD, Lucy and Mark Turi of Littleton, CO, and Victor and Barbara Ivanenko of Dallas, TX; four great-grandchildren, Zachary and Alexander Hill of Delaware Township, NJ and Anna and Matthew Kiriluk of Lumberton, NJ; a sister, Pauline Greeb of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada; and nieces and a nephew.

A Funeral Liturgy will be held Saturday at 9 a.m. in the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of St. George, 539 Yardville-Allentown Road, Yardville, NJ. Interment will follow in St. Andrews Ukrainian Orthodox Cemetery, South Bound Brook, NJ. Calling hours will be Friday from 7-9 p.m. at Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ.
