Anna E. Groch, beloved mother and grandmother, aged 99, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 9, 2024, at the Country Arch Care Center, Pittstown, NJ. Born Anna Lameyn on February 11, 1925, in Vlissingen, Netherlands, she was the daughter of the late Jan and Wilhelmina (Mol) Lameyn.
She and her husband immigrated to the United States in 1959 and had lived in Hunterdon County, NJ ever since.
A devoted homemaker, Anna dedicated herself to her family, creating a warm and nurturing environment that her loved ones always cherished. Her passion for life was reflected in her hobbies and interests; she found joy in knitting, the timeless beauty of classical music, and the wonder of nature. Anna was an animal lover, and her compassionate spirit extended to all living things. Above all, her greatest joy came from spending quality time with her family, fostering connections that would last a lifetime.
She was the last of her siblings and was also predeceased by her husband, the late Roman Groch, who passed away in 2004. Anna is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, John and Doris, and her daughter, Nisha. She also leaves behind three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions in her memory may be made to an animal charity of one's choice.
Cremation services and arrangements are private under the direction of the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ 08822.
