Anna Makerewicz

Anna Makerewicz, age 101 years, of Hope, NJ, died Friday, August 9, 2013, in Hackettstown Regional Medical Center, Hackettstown, NJ.

Born in Shenandoah, PA., July 11, 1912, daughter of the late Paul and Agnes Swies, she resided in Shenandoah until 1956, then in Kearny, NJ and had resided in Flemington, NJ, from 1983-2009. She had resided in Hope, NJ since 2009.

She was formerly employed in a bakery in Kearny, NJ and also was a secretary and bookkeeper at another company in Kearny.

Anna was a former communicant of St. Magdalen Church, Flemington, NJ.

Her husband, Isadore Makerewicz, died in 1983 and she was also pre-deceased by a daughter, Lorraine Meyers.

Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Donald and Ronni Makarewicz of Stewartsville, NJ, and Joseph and Amy Makarewicz of Boonton, NJ; a daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and John Sabo of Raritan Township, NJ; two sisters, Helen Skiba of Sayerville, NJ, and Eleanor Stone of Sebring, FL.; ten grandchildren, Donna, Diane, Nicole, Danielle, Carol, Richard, Christopher, Richard, Alexander, and Nicholas; and fifteen great grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, August 13, 2013, at 10:00AM in St. Magdalen Church, 105 Mine Street, Flemington, NJ, followed by interment in St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Shenandoah Heights, PA. Calling hours will be Monday 2:00PM-4:00PM and 7;00PM - 9:00PM in the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ.
