Anna Mary Jansch

Anna Mary Jansch, age 84 years, of Raritan Township, County of Hunterdon, passed away peacefully at her home under the care of Blossom, Nightingale NJ and Hunterdon Hospice.

Anna was born in Raritan Township on her family farm January 7th, 1936. Ann was brought into this world, delivered at home, by Barclay S Fuhrman MD.

Anna enjoyed the farm life, raising chickens with her mother and father. Anna would take the eggs to the Flemington Auction to sell. Anna would help her father in their fields to plow the earth. They had a horse to plow, and It was Anna's job to move the stones from the soil.

Anna saw the value of education at an early age. She kept that as a core value for her entire life by advancing the educations of the students she served. Anna began her education in a one-room school and graduated from Flemington High School in 1954. She completed her bachelor’s degree at Trenton State Teachers College in 1958 (now known as the College of New Jersey) and received her master’s degree in 1971 from Rider College. Ann became a teacher at North Hunterdon High School, teaching business administration.

Ann had a love for travel. Ann traveled with the teachers in the summer to Russia, Switzerland, and China. Ann even climbed the Great Wall in 1985. Ann had a love of gardening, sewing and her Bichon Poodle, Cuddles.

Anna was predeceased by her mother and father, Anna Ernestine Headrach and William Augusta Jansch, formerly from Germany. Surviving are her niece, Jenny Peters, and her niece’s children, Jamie Peters and William Peters.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 2, 2020 at 10 AM in the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Interment will be in Newell Cemetery, Stanton, NJ. Calling hours will be held on Sunday, March 1, 2020 from 5-7 PM in the funeral home.
