Anna Zyck, age 83 years, of Flemington, NJ, died on Monday, September 17, 2007, in the Hunterdon Medical Center, Raritan Township, NJ.

Born in Spring Lake, NJ, June 12, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Eva Hogg Collins. She had resided in Flemington since 1947.

She was a registered nurse and a graduate of the St. Francis Hospital School of Nursing, Trenton, NJ. Mrs. Zyck was also a graduate of the Nurse Cadet Program at Lakehurst, NJ during World War II. During her lengthy nursing career, she was a nurse at the Hunterdon Medical Center, a private duty nurse, a nurse at the Hunterdon Developmental Center, and was a longtime volunteer nurse with the Senior Health Services of Hunterdon County. She received a Governor's Award for volunteer nursing.

She was a sixty year communicant of St. Magdalen Church, Flemington, NJ; a member of the Flemington-Raritan Senior Citizens; active in the local chapter of the AARP; life member of the Flemington-Raritan Rescue Squad; Chaplain of the Grandview Grange, Flemington, NJ, and formerly active in the local chapter of the American Red Cross.

Mrs. Zyck was a charitable person, always giving food and clothing to the needy. She was always active in civic endeavors.

Her husband, Roman Zyck, Jr., died in 1981. Surviving are two daughters, An Curtis of Flemington, NJ, and Diane Zyck of Marlborough, MA; a son and daughter-in-law, Roman and Naomi Zyck III, of Bennington, NH; four grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 10 AM in St. Magdalen Church, 105 Mine Street, Flemington, NJ. Interment will be in St. Magdalen Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM in the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ.
