Anna-Marie Hockenbury

Anna-marie Hockenbury, age 84 years, of Readington Township, NJ, died Wednesday, July 20, 2016, at her home.

Born in Warren County, NJ, August 8, 1931, daughter of the late John and Marie Fehr Hoser, she had resided in Readington Township over fifty years and had formerly resided in Stewartsville, NJ.

Growing up on a dairy farm, she was a 4-H member of the Warren Asbury 4-H Dairy Club. It was through 4-H that she met her husband of 52 years, Carl Hockenbury (a 4-Her in Hunterdon County), who died in 2005. She raised all four children through 4-H clubs in Somerset County, where she was active as a 4-H leader of the Gingersnaps for over 25 years.

She was employed in the cafeteria of Readington School from 1973 to 1985 and then was cafeteria manager at the Three Bridges School from 1985 to 1999. She was also active with the Riverside Grange in Three Bridges, NJ for many years.

Surviving are her son, Craig Hockenbury of Union, NJ, her son and daughter-in-law, Clark and Marybeth Hockenbury of Hopedale, MA.; two daughters and sons-in-law, Carla and F. John Sbrana of Vineland, NJ, and Caren and Bob Lloyd of Flemington, NJ; a brother, Kenneth Hoser of Stewartsville, NJ; a sister, Ethel Sutphin of Cape Coral, FL.; and six grandchildren, Emily Lloyd, Julia Lloyd, Sam Hockenbury, Charles Hockenbury, Philip Hockenbury and Kate Hockenbury.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, August 20, 2016, at 11:00 AM in the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Interment will be in Amwell Ridge Cemetery, Larison's Corner, NJ. Calling hours will be Saturday, August 20, 2016, 9:30 AM-11:00 AM at the funeral home.
