Anne M. (Lucas) Amitrani, born May 12, 1933 in Elizabeth, New Jersey passed away peacefully on December 31, 2024 in Hillsborough New Jersey. She was a cherished daughter, beloved sister, devoted wife and mother, loving grandmother and a cherished friend to all who knew her.
Anne’s early life was rooted in Linden. She graduated high school in 1950 from the former St. Mary of the Assumption in Elizabeth. Married life took her to Spotswood and Cranford; in retirement she lived in Forked River and Three Bridges.
Her professional journey began at Woolworth’s while still in high school. She also worked at Crucible Steel and Arnold and Aborn Coffee before working at RCA in Clark. There, she met the love of her life, Robert Amitrani. They were married on December 19, 1955; raised three loving children and enjoyed over 50 years of marriage until he preceded her in death on April 12, 2009.
A fiercely patriotic individual, Anne loved the Brooklyn Dodgers and held her Catholic faith close to her heart. She was a recent member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton RC Church in Three Bridges.
A woman of many talents and interests, Anne found joy in bowling, gardening-both flowers and vegetables- baking and cooking. Her home was often filled with the delightful aromas of her culinary creations as she took great pleasure in entertaining family and friends. In her quiet moments, she enjoyed reading novels and was also a fan of music by Perry Como and Andy Williams, which brought her comfort and nostalgia.
She is survived by her loving family: son Robert and daughter-in-law Marian Amitrani; son Steven Amitrani; daughter Judy and son-in-law- Kevin Fitzmaurice; granddaughters Sara and husband Robert Dennis; Anne and husband Christopher Brown; and Mary Amitrani; grandsons Sean and Andrew Fitzmaurice, great grand-children James and Emily Dennis; as well as many loving nieces and nephews who will fondly remember her.
Anne is predeceased by her parents, John and Anna (Sutka) Lucas; brother Edward and sister-in-law Margaret Lukacs; sister Helen and brother-in-law Robert Vermette; Brother Steve Lucas, Brothers and sisters-in-law John and Ann Lucas, Jr.; and A. Vincent and Olga Lucas.
