Anthony Z. Miller, age 79 years, of Raritan Township, NJ, died Friday, January 25, 2013, at his home.

Born in Poland, January 6, 1934, son of the late Felix and Helen Kuryluk Miller, he had resided in Raritan Township for fifty-two years and had formerly resided in Perth Amboy, NJ.

Tony was a graduate of Rutgers University and was first employed as a production engineer for twenty years by RCA, Bridgewater, NJ and later was a member of the Technical Staff at the David Sarnoff Research Center, Princeton, NJ.

He served in the US Army 1956-1958 where he was a member of the Seventh Army Symphony Orchestra and toured Europe with the orchestra at which time he met his wife.

An accomplished violinist, violist and classical guitarist, he was a violinist with the Plainfield Symphony Orchestra. Tony was also a member of the American Chemical Society; an avid gardener and woodworker and loved animals and nature. Tony enjoyed flying and had his commercial license, private license and instructor's license. He was as member of the Blue Sky Club at Solberg Airport, Readington Township, NJ.

Surviving are his wife of fifty-three years, Gertrud "Trudy" Schmid Miller; a daughter, Ingrid G. Miller of Boulder, CO; and a sister, Gizela Bukowski of Woodbridge, NJ.

A Memorial Service will be held Friday, February 1, 2013, at 2:00 PM in the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Memorial contributions may be made to the Hunterdon Humane Animal Shelter, 576 Stamets Road, Milford, NJ 08848 or the Plainfield Symphony Orchestra, PO Box 5093, Plainfield, NJ 07061.
