Arleen Cohen

Arleen (Beinart) Cohen of Flemington, NJ passed away peacefully on January 5, 2024, after a hard-fought battle with Alzheimer’s Disease. She was 93 years old. Arleen was predeceased by her husband of 60 years, Conrad, and is survived by her children, Stuart Cohen of Mt. Laurel, NJ and Carolyn Podgorski (Ed) of Readington, NJ, and two grandchildren, Rachel and Jason.

Arleen was born in Brooklyn, NY and then moved to Commack, NY to raise her family. In 1997, after the birth of her first grandchild, Arleen retired from BOCES where she had worked for 25 years and moved to Flemington to be a daily part of her grandchildren’s lives, which she always said was her greatest joy. Arleen also found time to volunteer at Hunterdon Medical Center, planned the annual holiday party for the Senior Center, and did grocery shopping for seniors in the community.

Graveside services at Beth Israel Cemetery, Woodbridge, NJ will be private under the direction of the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ 08822.
