Arthur C. Beatty, age 95 years, of Delaware Township, NJ, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, April 6, 2021, at Hunterdon Medical Center, Raritan Township, NJ.
Born in Chester Springs, PA, June 30, 1925, son of the late Lewis and Augusta Harpel Beatty, he had resided in the Flemington area for sixty-three years.
Arthur was a truck driver for Kulp & Gordon for over thirty years. He also enjoyed carpentry and was an avid pigeon flyer.
A US Army veteran of World War II, he was inducted on Sept. 2, 1943 and served overseas in India-Burma, in Central Burma and in the Chinese invasion. Arthur received the Meritorious Unit Badge, the Asian-Pacific Service Medal with three Bronze Stars and the Victory Medal.
His greatest love was family. He taught us all right from wrong and to respect others and always be there for your kids. He was tough and fought a good fight, and he did it with grace and dignity. He has left us, but will be reunited with his family and friends that have passed before him.
He was pre-deceased by his sister, Helen Peterson, and by his daughter, LouAnne Allison Beatty in 1971.
Surviving are his wife of sixty-three years, Katherine Whitehead Beatty; his sons, Bruce Beatty, Dwayne Beatty, Arthur Beatty, Jr., and daughter-in-law, Barbara, Larry Beatty and daughter-in-law, Patty; his daughters, Patty Wright and son-in-law, Ed, Kathleen D’Agostino and son-in-law, Joe, and Beverly Hesson. Also, surviving are eighteen grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Monday, April 12, 2021, at 11:00 AM in the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Interment with military honors will follow in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Flemington, NJ. Calling hours will be Monday from 10:00-11:00 AM at the funeral home.
