Arthur F. Weed

Arthur F. Weed, age 84 years, formerly of Delaware Township, NJ, entered into eternal life on Monday, May 18, 2009, in Independence Manor, Raritan Township, NJ.

Born in Rock Tavern, NY, March 3, 1925, he was the son of the late Arthur M. and Josephine Murphy Weed.

He was an analytical chemist, retiring from FMC Corporation, Plainsboro, NJ.

He was a communicant of St. Magdalen Church, Flemington, NJ, and was a Fourth Degree Knight with the Knights of Columbus. Mr. Weed was a member and former President of the Delaware Township Seniors.

His first wife, Mary Kent Weed, died in 1963, and his second wife, Irene Weed, died in 1998. Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, George and Sandy Maxson of New Port Ritchey, FL; four daughters and sons-in-law, Shirley and Paul Simpson of Keansburg, NJ, Barbara and Nicholas Lebra of Alloway, NJ, Sandra and Roger Meyers of High Bridge, NJ, and Mary Weed-Orth and Steve Orth of Buxton, ME; nine grandchildren, and fourteen great-grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 10:30 AM in St. Magdalen Church, 105 Mine Street, Flemington, NJ. Entombment will be in St. Magdalen Mausoleum, Flemington, NJ. Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 5-8 PM in the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ.
