Arthur J. O'Neal

Arthur J. O'Neal, age 79 years, of Locktown, NJ, died on Wednesday, July 20, 2011, at his home.

Born March 15, 1932, in Hackensack, NJ, son of the late Arthur and Edith Swenson O'Neal, he had resided in Kingwood Township for forty-nine years.

An economist, he was Director of Planning and Research for the New Jersey Department of Labor, Trenton, NJ until retiring in 1994. He received his BA, MA and PhD in economics from Rutgers University.

He served in the United States Army from 1954 to 1956.

Survivng are his wife of fifty-seven years, Carolyn Fass O'Neal; two daughters, Colleen Miller of Easton, PA and Kathleen Shiarappa of Kingwood Township, NJ; four sons, Michael of San Diego, CA, Dennis of Glen Gardner, NJ, Peter of Belvidere, NJ, Matthew of Kingwood Township, NJ; a sister, Patricia Van Cleef of Northport, FL; a brother, Thomas O'Neal of Bellavista, ARK, and twelve grandchildren.

Memorial services will be held Tuesday, July 26, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. in Calvary Episcipal Church, Broad Street, Flemington, NJ, under of the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. There will be no calling hours.
