Arthur V. Haines

Arthur V. Haines, age 85 years, of Cherryville, NJ, died on Tuesday, January 26, 2016 in Foothill Acres Care Center, Hillsborough, NJ.

Born October 25, 1930, he was the son of the late Richard and Ethel Meyers Haines.

Arthur was the longest active member of the South Ridge Community Church (formerly Clinton Baptist Church), where he had served as Treasurer, Deacon, and with the Boys Brigade.

He was a United States Navy veteran of the Korean War, serving in Naples, Italy.

Arthur was a supervisor with the New Jersey Inheritance Tax Bureau until his retirement.

He was predeceased by a brother, Richard Haines. Surviving are his wife of fifty-three years, Edna Peterman Haines; two nephews, Edward Haines, and his wife Toni, and Terry Leppert; and a niece, Shelly Kafara, and her husband, Joseph.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 1, 2016 at 2 PM in the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Interment will be in Cherryville Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Sunday, January 31, 2016 from 6-8 PM in the funeral home.
