August S. Roth

August S. Roth, age 84 years, of Raritan Township, NJ, died Tuesday, April 9, 2013, at his home.

Born in Flemington, NJ, March 11, 1929, son of the late August J. and Elizabeth Varga Roth, he had resided in the Flemington area all his life.

He was retired from Acme Markets, Flemington, NJ, where he was manager of the Meat Department. He later was employed by Agway Stores in Flemington, NJ and Raritan, NJ and also worked for Carver's Auto Parts, Flemington, NJ until last year.

Gus was a member of the Flemington Baptist Church, a 1947 graduate of Flemington High School and was formerly a member of the Flemington Jaycees. He also served in the NJ National Guard.

Surviving are his wife of sixty-one years, Mary Norma Everitt Roth; a son and daughter-in-law, Stephen and Cheryl Roth of Sergeantsville, NJ; two daughters, Sheryl Clark of Robbinsville, NJ and Sandra Roth of Flemington, NJ; and four grandchildren, Eryn Clark, Marissa Clark, MacKenzie Wheeler-Piggott and Ian Wheeler.

Funeral services will be held Sunday at 2:00PM in the Flemington Baptist Church, 170 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Interment will follow in Union Cemetery, Ringoes, NJ. Calling hours will be Saturday 6:00 - 9:00PM at Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ.
