Avis Pyatt Darago, age 95 years, of Holland Township, NJ, died on Wednesday, March 16, 2011, in Brakeley Park Care Center, Lopatcong Township, NJ.
Born in Flemington, NJ, May 8, 1915, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Gertrude Myers Pyatt. She had formerly resided in Whitehouse Station, NJ.
She was formerly employed by the Hunterdon County National Bank from 1954-1961, then retired as Branch Manager with Somerset Savings in 1977.
She was a member of the Rockaway Reformed Church, Whitehouse Station, NJ, and was a former volunteer at the Hunterdon Medical Center for many years.
Her husband, Matthew Darago, died in 1969, and a son, Jeffrey Darago, died in 2001 and a grandson, Edward Darago in 2007. She was also pre-deceased by her three sisters. Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and Ardith Darago of Milford, NJ, and Laurence and Joan Darago of Lake Worth, FL; six grandchildren: Betty Ann Bechtold, Janet Leist, Steven and James Darago, Katey and Benjamin Darago; two step-grandchildren, Mark and June Koteles; and eleven great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday at 1 PM in the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Interment will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Flemington, NJ. Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 7-9 PM in the funeral home.
