Barbara was born on Feb 6, 1946, the daughter of two teachers. Her artistic talent was apparent even at Delaware Township grammar school, especially her work with pastels. She got one of the first ever Barbie dolls at Kline’s that she always dressed in high fashion sewn by herself.
She graduated from Hunterdon Central High School in 1964 where she was the Editor in Chief of the school paper and declared the Most Talented in the class. She was selected for the Quill and Scroll, a nationwide literary and journalism association. From there she went to the Rhode Island School of Design. After college she returned to the Delaware Valley and began a career in publishing production and management. She worked for 17 years at ETS as a graphic designer. Her work took her to China and started her life long love of travel. She returned with both memories and beautiful photographs that she assembled into breathtaking albums from places like China, Greenland, and Iceland, to the Netherlands, Peru and Patagonia. She also worked part time as a wedding photographer.
Barbara and her father spent many years renovating an 1848 granary on the Delaware-Raritan Canal, using recycled barn wood and other materials he’d salvaged. An avid gardener as well, she created an charming oasis in West Trenton for herself.
She later moved to Lambertville which she adored. She walked everywhere and was active in local events.
