Barbara Dawn Cediel

Barbara Dawn Cediel, child of God, passed away on July 6, 2018 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Riverview Florida at the age of 71. Barb was born on August 10, 1946 in Newark, New Jersey to Edgar and Marcella Smith. She attended and graduated high school in Plainfield, NJ and went on to cosmetology school. She married Bernardo Cediel on July 28, 1982 and they resided in Flemington, NJ for over 25 years. Barbara moved to Ruskin, FL in 2015. Barbara was a hairdresser of over 35 years. After her retirement she worked as a receptionist for a local medical office. After retiring to Florida, she volunteered her time tutoring children through the “Retired Seniors Volunteer Program.” Barb was very fond of her pets, loved to travel, enjoyed meeting new people and spending time with family and friends. She was generous in sharing her blessings with others. There was always a seat at her dinner table for all including those that had nowhere else to go. Through many years of health issues, she was a testament of grace and perseverance in suffering. Barbara will be sadly missed by her dedicated husband, Bernardo Cediel, her loving and devoted sister, Beverly Smith, her aunt, Margaret Riccoboni, many cousins and all the Cediel Family members. Visitation and a prayer/memorial service will be held on Sunday, July 22, 2018 beginning at 11 AM at Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ 08822. All are also welcomed to join family for 9 AM Sunday Mass at St. Magdalen de Pazzi Roman Catholic Church, 105 Mine St. Flemington, NJ 08822. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105, the American Diabetes Foundation, P.O. Box 15829 Arlington, VA 22215 or the American Heart Association, 1 Union Street #301, Robbinsville, NJ 08691.
