Barbara Lois Blodgett, 88, of Flemington, NJ sadly passed away on August 24, 2024, after a brave and strong fight. She was born on January 30, 1936, to the late Alma (Ries) and Clarence Decker in Staten Island, NY, later moving to Kingwood Township, NJ.
Barbara enjoyed playing field hockey at Frenchtown High School where she graduated in 1953. Barbara married Wayne Blodgett in 1955, and they raised their family in Sergeantsville, and later in Flemington.
They enjoyed many hobbies together, including square dancing, camping all over the United States, spending time with friends and their cribbage club. She remained active in her high school alumni group, often organizing gatherings until recent years. Barbara loved to bake for her family and friends, and she was also an avid reader. She enjoyed her needlework and following the NY Mets. Barbara loved being surrounded by family. She was also an active member of Flemington Baptist Church for many years, where she had numerous friends.
In addition to her parents, Barbara was predeceased by her husband Wayne , and her siblings Edwin, Carol, Joan and Clarence. She is survived by her four children and their spouses, Susan Case (Barry); Alan Blodgett (Marian); Lori Stevenson (Tim) and Maureen Piera (Andrew); her seven grandchildren Dylan, Alaine, Rebecca, Elizabeth, Ryan, Lauren, and Adam; and her 10 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ 08822 on Thursday, September 12, 2024, at 11:00 am. Interment will be private.
