Basilio Rojas, Jr. age 90, of Raritan Township, NJ passed away on July 22, 2018 at Hunterdon Medical Center, Raritan Township, NJ.

Born September 22, 1927 in Humacao, Puerto Rico, he was the son of Basilio Rojas and Julia Castro de Rojas. Basilio moved to New York City in the 1950s and served for two years in the Army during the Korean War and was discharged honorably. He worked as a medical technician for the VA Hospital in New York City for 30 years before retiring and returning to Puerto Rico in 1989.

His wife of 56 years, Rosa E. Negron de Rojas passed away on December 16, 2012. Basilio was proud of his Puerto Rican heritage and had a great love for the USA and remained at New Yorker at heart. Basilio moved to Raritan Township where he lived with his daughter and son. He loved jazz music and Frank Sinatra was his all-time favorite singer. Family was most important to him and he was a beloved father, brother, uncle and grandfather. He was a loyal New York Mets fan to the end! He is survived by his son Basil, daughter Nancy, grandson Luke and son-in-law David of Raritan Township, NJ.

Visitation will be held on Friday, July 26, 2018 from 12 p.m. until 11 p.m. at Funeraria Tonito Flores, Humacao, Puerto Rico. Funeral services will be announced and held in Humacao, Puerto Rico at Funeraria Tonito Flores. Local arrangements are by Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home in Flemington NJ.
