Beatrice Bachardy, age 93 years, of Flemington, NJ, died peacefully on Saturday, February 4, 2017 in Robert Wood Johnson-Somerset Hospital, Somerville, NJ.
Born in Yonkers, NY, March 6, 1923, Beatrice was the daughter of the late Martin F. and Anna Kachnic Waisempacher. Beatrice lived in Hunterdon County most of her life, spending the last 60 years in Flemington. She worked for many years at Deal Manufacturing and Singer Manufacturing before going to Thomas J. Lipton, where she retired in 1990 after many years of service.
Beatrice was the matriarch of her family. She was an avid baseball fan who dedicated her summer nights to her Mets. She loved spending time with her family, being a confidante to her grandchildren and watching her great-grandchildren grow up. Her grandchildren, who referred to her as “Grandma Bean” loved listening to her tell stories of her past and learning the secrets to her Christmas Eve feast. For the last four years, Grandma Bean was busy taking care of Ella and Milo, her Yorkie-Poos who she lovingly referred to as her “kids”.
In addition to her parents, Beatrice was predeceased by her sister, Ethel Sawanowich. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Theodore and Nancy Bachardy; her brother, Martin Waisempacher; her sister, Ann “Mim” Waisempacher; her three grandchildren: Tracy and her husband Mike, Mark and his wife Angela, and Alicia. Beatrice was great grandma to her six great granddaughters: Morgan, Rylie, Vasiliki, Alexandra, Gerasimina, and Sofia. Beatrice is also survived by her eight nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be private under the direction of the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ.
