Beatrice Eleanor Bush

Beatrice Eleanor Bush, aged 97 years, died peacefully on July 26, 2016 in The Highlands Care Center, in Laporte, PA, while recuperating from a recent operation. She had lived for the past eight years in Sullivan County, PA, with her son and daughter-in-law of Elkland Township. Born January 10, 1919 in Flemington, NJ, Beatrice was the daughter of Alvin Quick Rynearson and Stella May Eick Rynearson. She attended local Flemington schools, graduating from Flemington High School with the class of 1937 and one of the last remaining members of that class. On September 11, 1937 she married Grover E. Bush, of Whitehouse Station. They moved first to South Plainfield where Grover managed a farm. After World War II, they moved to Peapack-Gladstone where they lived for almost 30 years before retiring to Point Pleasant Beach for the next 25 years. Her husband passed away in 2000 after the couple had moved to Milford, NJ, to live near their son. Beatrice was a member of the Peapack Reformed Church in Gladstone, the Presbyterian Church of Point Pleasant Beach, and the Presbyterian Church of Milford. With her husband she loved playing pinochle with many of their friends. She spent her free time bird-watching and creating needlepoint crafts. Beatrice became an avid reader after moving to Pennsylvania, devouring biographies and novels of many authors during her last years. She was a whiz at 1000-piece jigsaw puzzles. Beatrice is survived by her son, Richard E. Bush and wife, Pamelyn, of Forksville, PA; one brother, Arthur P. Rynearson, of Woodbridge, VA. Her grandchildren: Grady Bush (Tina) of St. Antonio, TX, Bonnie Christensen of Bradley, IL, and Richard A. Bush (Irene) of Chugiak, AK. Great-grandchildren: Elizabeth, Emily, Candace, Melissa, Ashley, Kiara, Cerina and Zaiden. She loved her nieces and nephews as if they were her own children: John E. “Jack” Bush (Penny) of Readington Township, NJ, Shirley Vanderveer (James) of Lewes, DE, Liza Rozzo (Glenn Hill) of Woodford, NJ, Lynda Staley (Greg) of Port Charlotte, FL, Arthur J. Rynearson (Mary Linda) of Arlington, VA, Cathy Bush of High Bridge, NJ, and great-niece, Cheryl Tindall (Edward) of Plainfield, IL. She was predeceased by her parents, Alvin and Stella Rynearson, her beloved husband of 63 years, Grover E. Bush, and sister, Elizabeth Jane (Rynearson) Rozzo. A graveside service will be in Rural Hill Cemetery, 13 Old Route 28, Whitehouse NJ, on Monday, August 1st at 1:00 pm. Funeral arrangements under the direction of Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main St., Flemington, NJ.
