Bernice B. Storr

Bernice B. Storr, age 93 years, of Flemington Borough, NJ, died Wednesday, June 14, 2023, at her home where she had lived for more than sixty years.

Born in Reaville, NJ, August 5, 1929, daughter of the late George and Elizabeth Bley Strimple, she had resided most of her life in the Stanton, NJ area and Flemington, NJ.

Bernice was a 1949 graduate of Flemington High School and was first a clerical worker at the Flemington Auction Market, later a school crossing guard and a cafeteria worker in the Flemington-Raritan School System, and also was a gatekeeper at the former Flemington Speedway.

Bernice was a skilled painter, mostly in watercolors, and was a skilled sketch artist as well.

She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Flemington Elks Lodge #1928.

Her husband, Grenelle “Slim” Storr, to whom she was married for sixty-four years, died in 2014. She was also pre-deceased by her sister, Evelyn Hall and her two brothers, Garwood Strimple and Clifford Strimple.

Surviving are two daughters, Sherry Totten of Flemington, NJ and April Nalence of Ringoes, NJ; a son, Thomas Storr of New York City; four grandchildren, Jenna, Cole, Danielle and Brielle; and two great grandchildren, Sadie and Audrey.

All funeral arrangements and interment in Prospect Hill Cemetery are private under the direction of the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ 08822.
