Betty Blanco

Betty Blanco, age 94 years, of Willingboro, NJ, passed away on Wednesday, December 27, 2023, at her daughter’s home in Seaford, DE.

Born in Manhattan, NY, February 12, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Harold and Fanny (Traub) Gorochovsky. Betty grew up in the South Bronx, NY and spent most of her early life there. In 1960, she and her late husband, Alexander Blanco, moved to Flemington Borough, NJ where she resided for over 60 years until 2021.

Betty was a homemaker and sacrificed tremendously to take care of her four children. She will be remembered as “the best mother in the world”.

Betty was a social butterfly and enjoyed playing card games, especially poker. Additionally, she was an avid bingo player.

In addition to her parents, Betty was predeceased by her husband of 73 years, Alexander Blanco, who died in 2020; and her siblings, Gus, Natie, Charlie, Murray, and Jennie; as well as her favorite pet, Sheri.

Surviving are her four children, Susan J. Benesh of Seaford, DE, Lenny Blanco of Willingboro, NJ, Barbara Fuller of Gainesville, GA, and Michael C. Blanco, Sr. also of Willingboro, NJ; her grandchildren, Rebecca Sorensen and Michael C. Blanco, Jr.; and great-grandchildren, Ava and Alexis.

Graveside services, and interment with her late husband, will take place on Wednesday, January 10, 2024 at 1:30 PM in Washington Crossing National Cemetery, 830 Highland Road, Newtown, PA.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions in Betty’s name be made to Fight Colorectal Cancer (Fight CRC) Foundation 134 Park Central Square #210, Springfield, MO 65806 https://fightcolorectalcancer.org or to the Morristown Memorial Hospital, 100 Madison Avenue, Morristown, NJ 07960.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ 08822.
