Betty Jean Serridge

Betty Jean Serridge, age 84 years, died on Saturday, April 23, 2011, in the Hunterdon Medical Center, Raritan Township, NJ.

Born in West Charleston, Orleans County, VT, October 29, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Carl and Elsa Royce Ruiter.

She moved to New Jersey as a child, and later graduated from Flemington High School, Flemington, NJ. She married her husband of forty years, the late Edward Serridge, on August 31, 1946.

She worked for many years for the Hunterdon County Sheriff's Office.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Lee Bucher of Hopewell, NJ; son and daughter-in-law, Edward and Jeannette Serridge of Flemington, NJ; son, Patrick Serridge, of Alpha, NJ; her grandchildren: David Didovich, Lisa Mundy, Edward Serridge, Denise Serridge, Keely Serridge, and Tyler Serridge; and her great-grandchildren: Ryan, Jason, Rylee, Makaila, Paul, and Haley.

Graveside Services will be held in Vermont at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Homer, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ.
